Anastrozole (ARIMIDEX®) is a medication called an aromatase inhibitor. It is considered a hormonal treatment that is more commonly given to women post-menopause who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Anastrozole (ARIMIDEX®) works by reduces the amount of the estrogen hormone that’s within a women’s body and has been effective in slowing the rate of growth of some breast cancer tumors.
